Dream of the Red Chamber is a sumptuous full-length dance drama based on one of the four greatest written works in Chinese classical literature, Hong Lou Meng.Set to a score by Academy Award-winning Composer,Su Cong,Dream of the Red Chamber is a feast for the senses that masterfully blends Chinese dance,modern dance, and classical Ballet. This extroordinary production is directed and choreographed by the award-winning Zhao Ming,and performers come from the World-renowned Beijing Friendship Dance Company.This show has been warmly received in the U.S.A. Europe, and Australia with standing ovation and to great applause.

Dream of the Red Chamber is similar to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet,in that it is a tragic love story.The two lead characters are Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu.Their lives,and those of four aristocratic families Jia,Shi,Wang,and Xue,intertwine with trickery,true love,and death by a brokenheart,interetingly the story is semi-autobiographical, and it provides deep insight into the Chinese social superstruture of the Qing Dynasty.This includes the Official title system.philosphical views,social customs.laws,ethics,education,religious and marriage practices.
